Family Advocate

POSITION SUMMARY: Promote children and families' progress across the standards and as described in the Head Start Parent, Family, and Community Engagement Framework to build respectful, culturally responsive, and trusting relationships with families. Provide assistance and support to the families to ensure all state and federal standards are met. Attain knowledge of resources available in the community, and build and strengthen partnerships within community entities.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Implement curriculum in accordance with guidelines/training
  2. Work with families to identify and set goals. Monitor progress and follow up on all referrals throughout the length of the program
  3. Complete minimum monthly contact via home visits and phone contacts in accordance with program options
  4. Document child/family recruitment efforts
  5. Participate in all required meetings & trainings
  6. Adhere to all CNCAP-related policies and procedures
  7. Promote the program and agency in a positive and professional manner

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. A high school diploma or GED required
  2. Valid driver's license
  3. 1-3 years experience of working with children/families

  5. Demonstrated ability to work with others

SCHEDULE: Monday-Thursday: 7 am - 5 pm

REPORTS TO: Teacher/Center Specialist

JOB STATUS: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

PAY: $14.88 - $16.54/hour (depending on qualifications)
