Infant/ Toddler Teacher

POSITION SUMMARY: This individual would be responsible for the care and education of young children, 6 weeks to 3 years of age. The I/T Teacher plans and implements developmentally appropriate learning experiences in the Early Head Start Center. Candidates would coordinate the classroom including daily activities with kids, paperwork and parent communication while promoting a positive, happy, and nurturing learning environment including children with disabilities and dual language learners. Candidates must be able to demonstrate effective communication and a non-judgmental attitude when working with staff, families, and children. This position is full time year round.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Work in the classroom with children and planning daily activities
  2. Obtain and document In-kind
  3. Work cooperatively with other employees, clients, and community members
  4. Recruit ECP volunteers
  5. Promote school readiness for children, families, and community members
  6. Participate in all required meetings and trainings
  7. Adhere to all CNCAP policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. A high school diploma or GED is required, prefer a Child Development (CDA), AA, or BA in Early Childhood
  2. Valid driver's license
  3. Prefer prior experience working with young children ( 6 weeks- 3 years old)

  1. Problem-solving skills
  2. Communication skills
  3. knowledge in word, excel, PowerPoint, and databases
  4. Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  5. Demonstrated ability to work with others

SCHEDULE: Monday-Thursday: 7 am - 5 pm

REPORTS TO: Area Manager

JOB STATUS: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

PAY: $18.20 - $19.86/hour (depending on qualifications)
